Christmas Eve is always low key around here because we are exhausted! Grandma, Grandpa, and Amy come over in Christmas jammies and we have salad, soup, and chili. We also take selfies.
The kids built some gingerbread houses during the day. Frankenstein and Cubby left them for us.
We also made some yummy sugar and gingerbread cookies. The kids had fun decorating them and making some special ones for Santa!
They are proud of their creations. Presley showed us that you can take the gingerbread man cutout and turn it upside down to make reindeer! Impressive!
We were finishing making our hankies for Grandpa like we do every year but Millie wanted to help too!
Our house decorated during the day!
Once we settled down, we watched the Grinch!
But then after we ate, the kids wanted to give us their presents that they bought. They missed the Holiday Shop at school this year because we were in Disney so I took them to the dollar store instead and they were so excited. They came home and wrapped them right up. They couldn't wait to give them to us!
First up was Millie and Hazel. They got some treats and toys. Even a new dish!
Daddy got his presents next. He got some strawberry (Presley's favorite ) air fresheners for his car. He also got some nice pictures.
Grandma got some candles, a jewelry box, and some back massage coupons from Evie.
I got a picture frame, a candle, and some pictures.
Amy got a picture frame or two and some coffee.
Evie gave Gracie some squishies and Presley gave her a mind game.
Gracie gave Presley an emoji ball and Evie gave him a dinosaur squishy.
They gave Evie a puzzle and some nail polish.
Grandpa was pretty excited because he had a big box to open. It was from Presley and he was so excited to give it to him!
At the bottom of the box was some change with a note that read "Keep the change ya filthy animal." He thought that was hilarious!
But Grandpa got a hat, similar to the ones he was looking at at Disney. Evie gave him a notebook to use in his office and Gracie gave him a first aid kit for his plumbing truck.
It was a cozy Christmas Eve.
After that we had to sprinkle our reindeer food on the driveway so the reindeer had some snacks while Santa was busy.
We put our cookies and milk out for Santa and we left some carrots for the reindeer too!
I take a picture every year of the kids by their Christmas trees in their rooms. It's special because they all have special ornaments that they get every year. Presley has lots of baseball, Cubs, and Marvel ornaments on his tree.
Gracie has some Disney, pandas, and Jack ornaments.
Evie of course has lots and lots of princess ornaments on her pink tree!
Chuck even took a nap too.
Soon the kids were in bed and our stockings were hung by the chimney with care.
We also had a note from Frankenstein and Cubby saying that they had to go to the North Pole to help Santa.
Our tree with all our wooden Claudia ornaments on it and some homemade ones from the kids.
The tree with everything else on it.
Our beautiful house all lit up. I love spending the holidays here.
Soon Santa came and left Presley a pitching net.
All the kids got a Nintendo Switch.
Gracie got some panda things along with a Fitbit.
Evie got a doll school with a new doll named Hally.
It is going to be a magical Christmas!
Even Millie was ready!
Oops, Santa also left Gracie a light-up panda for Christmas!
I went to church and it is always a beautiful service complete with candles and singing of "Silent NIght."
I came home to take sleeping pics of the kids like I do every Christmas Eve.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
