As I am preparing for the twins to arrive, I have been busy reading all about them! Sure I had the usual pregnancy books when I was pregnant with Gracie but there was not too much in there about multiple births when I took a look at them. So ever since I found out I was carrying twins, I ran out and bought some books about it. It really has been a different experience than carrying one. Besides seeing my BFF's, the doctors, way more, there has been tons of planning, if not more than Gracie, a trade in yet again of another vehicle to make room, the purchases of more baby items as if we didn't have enough, the attempt of selling the house to make room, bigger belly, way more movement, much more uncomfortable but on the plus side, lots of ultrasounds! Anyways, here are some of the books that I have been reading.......

This book has helped tremendously. It not only has a whole chapter devoted to the feeling you have after hearing the news that you are having twins, (it was scary and yes, I cried), but it talks about how it is ok to not be sure about what you have gotten yourself into. I totally felt that way for awhile. But it also talks about different delivery methods of twins and if need be, what their stay in the NICU might be like. It also had much more detailed tips on how to carry mulitples in the best healthiest way you can. It also has contains many interesting facts about conceiving twins such as how age (my age of 30) can increase the amount of eggs I release adn how actually 1 in 30 pregnancies in women over 30 end up pregnant with twins. It talks about how twins develop faster than singleton babies too in order to prepare for an earlier delivery.

This book sounds like something I might have written. It's a funny trick-of-the-trade book about a mom who is dealing with the emotions of having twins. She way she wrote the book is the exact way I feel too. There is a chapter about getting a minivan. Of course she didn't want one because she didn't want to turn into one of those sweats-wearing, coffee clutching moms who drive the mini. I was not the most excited about getting a mini either but due to financial planning, that was our only option. This lady opted for the pricey and big SUV. But regardless, it is still funny to read.

This book has been great too. It takes you through the whole pregnancy and shows pictures of how twins grow inside the womb each month. They even have ultrasound pictures for each month as well. Very informative and it will also go through what to do when the babies are born, which I have not gotten to yet, but probably should read soon!

This book has helped me in many ways too. One being, they have a whole section of what baby items you actually need double of. It did help me make decisions as to what we needed to go out and buy. And the items we did go out and buy, it wasn't as costly as I thought with all the sales, coupons, and twins disount we used!

This book is great. It's almost like those Chicken Soup books. It is real stories of moms with twins describing their feelings from pregnancy through the delivery to what it's like living with them. I really need to continue reading this book more as I have not gotten too far into it yet. Guess I better get reading!
