Decorating Pumpkins!

The other night Daddy came home with 4 pumpkins! He decided to be the one to take the guts out and carve 3 of them (representing our little family of 3). He saved one for Gracie to decorate however that came with this kit. With the kit, you take these golf tee things and pound them into the pumpkin. It did come with patterns but of course a 2-year old does not want to follow that. She went to town telling us which color she wanted where. She would rather hammer the tee while holding it in her hand, or hammering the table! Daddy had to hlep with that. But then when you put a candle inside and it lights up, it looks pretty cool. Gracie had fun and is proud of her "craft". Now on to trick-or-treating tomorrow! Can't wait to post pictures of her in her Halloween costume.

My Little Pumpkin!

A couple of weeks ago, Grandma and Grandpa and Auntie Amy came and took Gracie to the pumpkin patch. I would have liked to go but due to the gravel roads, not good for wheelchairs and the fact that I can barely walk anymore, I was left to rest at home. I sent my camera though and how cute did pictures turn out! Gracie loved it! She had fun petting the animals and playing on the slide, which went super fast so Grandpa had to catch her. She even rode the train and picked out her own pumpkin, which she want to carry everywhere! She still talks about going back but due to the weather, not sure if that will happen. Next year though, we will have 3 little pumpkins sitting in the pumpkin patch!

The Last Ultrasound!

Today was my final ultrasound! Sort of sad but exciting though. It is totally hard to make anything out much in these later ultrasounds but once again, all is good with both babies! Baby A weighs about 6.2 pounds and Baby B weighs about 5.9 pounds. Again, the doctor said they are above average size for twins so that's good news. It must be the all the healthy foods I have been eating! Ha! Anyways, nothing to do now except wait. I go every week to the high-risk doctor for non-stress tests and every week to the OB/GYN where I know my cervix will NOT open. It never did with Gracie remember? That thing needs to be pryed open! Anyways, probably having a C-section. Maybe tomorrow we will get to pick the day. Besides from being uncomfortable and barely able to walk, I have a few more things that I need to get done before these little munchkins show up. For one, I probably should pack my bag...........

Bouncing with Auntie Amy!

Since yesterday was not a babysitter day for Miss Gracie, Auntie Amy took the day off to come and help since Chuck had to work. She had been talking about taking Gracie to this Bounctown place. They have toddler times on Thursdays so it's only for kids 5 and under. My pal Jessica and her son Scott came too! It wasn't too far away and we had a coupon. We were so excited that there were hardly any kids there at all! This place beats the other bouncy house that we have gone to before. They had 2 rooms full of huge bouncys! Gracie and Scott loved the bouncy that is like a huge basketball court and full of balls. Scott would just run and slam himself down and Gracie would run around with the balls screeching with delight! In this room too, they had an obstacle course bouncy that Gracie loved too. Auntie Amy was dragged through this many times and I think she earned herself some extra weight watchers points for that. The workers at this place were kind enough to give me folding chair that I could drag from bouncy to bouncy so I could sit and watch and take pictures. In the other room, they had big basketballs that you could roll around. Gracie also loved the boncys in this room too. One was made for little kids like her so she had fun bouncing on some purple animal thing. She also liked one that was a snake obstacle course and ended with a slide. The only one she didn't like was this Batman one because the slide part is dark and she refused to go in the dark. Oh well. We will for sure have to make another trip back to this place. Maybe next time Daddy can come. It will also be a great getaway for Gracie once the babies come too!

Decorating Delight!

It was a laid back weekend for the Weiss girls. Grandma and Grandpa were out of town and Daddy had to work all weekend. So Auntie Amy came over and baked cookies and Gracie had a blast decorating them! We had bowls of sprinkles set out and Gracie went to town. Granted half of the sprinkles ended up either on the table or on the floor. A few licks were snuck in there too as Miss Gracie coudn't resist the temptation. Of course, she got to eat some when she was done. What a great idea for inside fun! Auntie Amy is planning what kind of cookies to make for Christmas now. A gingerbread house is even in the plans.........

34 Weeks and Going Strong!

I'm not quite sure why I am showing this picture. But nonetheless, I have made it to 34 weeks so far! Yay! This is great news because now the babies' lungs should be pretty developed, enough where they could probably breathe on their own and their sucking reflexes are developed too! Although the longer I can carry these babes, I know it's better. But as you can see, I am pretty big now and I am getting pretty uncomfortable. I won't share how much weight I have gained but I can tell you that my belly alone weighs about 15 pounds! Yep, that's right. Each baby is over 5 pounds by now, plus 2 placentas, which are about 2 pounds each, plus all the amniotic fluid and whateve else may be there! I can't believe that short little me has accomodated the babies quite as well as I have. Let's just say my stomach is not a pretty sight and I'm pretty sure I will never wear a bikini again. Doctors say everything is great! I go every week and have been for awhile now. Now I also get to see the perinatologist (my high risk doctor) every week too! Now I get to take non-stress tests every week. I had them with Gracie but not until I went over my due date. I remembe lying there for half an hour hooked up to a fetal monitor and pushing a button everytime I felt Gracie move. Not sure how this is going to work with twins. Will I be hooked up to 2 fetal monitors? I can tell ya now that these babies move like crazy when I am sitting down. Like they neve stop. With two in there, it's quie a different feeling. I love it and will miss it when they finally make their appearance, which I still don't know when that will be yet. I have a feeling, because the babies are still breech, I will have to have a C-section, which does not make me happy but I know we need to do whatever is safer. I have a feeling that these babies will be born sometime in the first week of November. Anyone willing to place some bets?

Ready or Not, They are Coming!

As I am preparing for the twins to arrive, I have been busy reading all about them! Sure I had the usual pregnancy books when I was pregnant with Gracie but there was not too much in there about multiple births when I took a look at them. So ever since I found out I was carrying twins, I ran out and bought some books about it. It really has been a different experience than carrying one. Besides seeing my BFF's, the doctors, way more, there has been tons of planning, if not more than Gracie, a trade in yet again of another vehicle to make room, the purchases of more baby items as if we didn't have enough, the attempt of selling the house to make room, bigger belly, way more movement, much more uncomfortable but on the plus side, lots of ultrasounds! Anyways, here are some of the books that I have been reading.......

This book has helped tremendously. It not only has a whole chapter devoted to the feeling you have after hearing the news that you are having twins, (it was scary and yes, I cried), but it talks about how it is ok to not be sure about what you have gotten yourself into. I totally felt that way for awhile. But it also talks about different delivery methods of twins and if need be, what their stay in the NICU might be like. It also had much more detailed tips on how to carry mulitples in the best healthiest way you can. It also has contains many interesting facts about conceiving twins such as how age (my age of 30) can increase the amount of eggs I release adn how actually 1 in 30 pregnancies in women over 30 end up pregnant with twins. It talks about how twins develop faster than singleton babies too in order to prepare for an earlier delivery.
This book sounds like something I might have written. It's a funny trick-of-the-trade book about a mom who is dealing with the emotions of having twins. She way she wrote the book is the exact way I feel too. There is a chapter about getting a minivan. Of course she didn't want one because she didn't want to turn into one of those sweats-wearing, coffee clutching moms who drive the mini. I was not the most excited about getting a mini either but due to financial planning, that was our only option. This lady opted for the pricey and big SUV. But regardless, it is still funny to read.

This book has been great too. It takes you through the whole pregnancy and shows pictures of how twins grow inside the womb each month. They even have ultrasound pictures for each month as well. Very informative and it will also go through what to do when the babies are born, which I have not gotten to yet, but probably should read soon!

This book has helped me in many ways too. One being, they have a whole section of what baby items you actually need double of. It did help me make decisions as to what we needed to go out and buy. And the items we did go out and buy, it wasn't as costly as I thought with all the sales, coupons, and twins disount we used!

This book is great. It's almost like those Chicken Soup books. It is real stories of moms with twins describing their feelings from pregnancy through the delivery to what it's like living with them. I really need to continue reading this book more as I have not gotten too far into it yet. Guess I better get reading!

Sittin' and Scrappin"

Well, since I have been place on modified bedrest, I don't have a lot of options as to what to do. Sure I can still go places but I can't walk, it hurts, so I have to be pushed in a wheelchair. I can drive although really the only place I go are to and from the babysitters 3 days a week and to drive through fast-food places. The only place I travel to with Gracie is my parents since they help me out by playing with her and giving her baths because I can't sit on the floor (I'll never get up) and I can't reach her leaning over the tub because my tummy is way too big. Chuck has been working a lot since his assistants need to get their vacation time in before he takes his paternity leave. At home, not much to do, can't clean really because I can't bend over too well and there is way too many stairs and that leaves me sore and out of breath. So you wondering what I do? I sit in my cozy little area of the basement and scrapbook! I really love scrapbooking but it is just hard to find the time to do it. I have a little table set up with all my necessities (paper, ink, scissors, ribbon, pictures, stickers, etc.) lined up next to me on shelves so I don't even have to get out of my chair to reach them! I even have a laundry basket underneath the table so I can prop my feet up which is what I am supposed to be doing. My wonderful husband even put a TV next to me so I can have noise, although daytime TV is not very good. So this is what I do when Gracie is at the sitters. I am excited because it is giving me a chance to catch up. A few weeks ago I had to start with pictures from last summer, yes the summer of 2008. I fell a year behind! So I have been busy scrapping my little butt off to catch up. I currently today just finsihed last years Christmas so I am gettign there. I can't believe the amount of pictures I take though. Serisouly, I have a huge stack of pictures that are not making it into my albums. I really need to be more selective about the pictures I have developed not to mention, it will save some money! I realize now that I don't need 10 pictures of Gracie doing the same thing! So anyways, here are some of my favorite layouts that I have recently completed. I'll post more as I continue to scrap my behind off! Maybe this will give some of you some incentive or at least some ideas if you are a fellow scrapbooker!
