Rascal Flatts!

THis weekend, my sister and I headed to the Rascal Flatts Concert!  She had gotten me tickets for Mother's Day so we finally got to go.  Now I am not a huge country music person.  My station is gnerally 101.9 or 103.5 but I will tell you that know I have a pregrommed button for 98.3 and 99.5.  It's growing on me because lots of people I know listen to it and I do like most of it.  When I first started listening to country, the RascalFlatts were one of the first bands that I really liked.  Ok I loved them!  They seriously have some really great songs. This song used to play here on the blog.  It is one of my favorite songs of all time and I love the words.  It's calld "My Wish."  I know this sounds crazy but I totally think of my kids everytime I hear it and it gives me goosebumps.  I can even picture Presley and I dancing to this song at his wedding for the mother/son dance!

Here is me and my sis. We really had a great time.  The weather was great and so were the lime-a-ritas!  It was one of those fun and crazy summer nights!

Just Another Day at the Zoo!

We hit the zoo again today because summer is winding down for us and we are squeezing in all kinds of last minute zoo trips. We tried to do some things that we don't normally do on our zoo trips.  First we had to walk across the rocks.

We hit the children's zoo obviously because it's one of our favorites but we had time to kill before the dolphin show.

We did get to see an owl up close though.

And checked out the baby chicks.

This chick liked the chicks.

We watched a gaot get milked too.

We went and saw the dolphin show which was neat because it was Olympic themed. 

It was pretty neat.  We haven't seen it in a couple of years.

Presley loved when the dolphins jumped out of the water and made big splashes.

My kids also loved that the dolphins waved bye!

We went and ate after that and Presley was impressed with the big tree for some reason.

We went to the Family Zoo which we don't always do and Gracie got to pet a snake!

But what she really wanted to do was face paint.

She wanted to be a panda bear so I tried my best. I never said I was a good artist.

She didn't care though and decided to be a panda zookeeper.

But everyone liked cleaning.

We went into the swamp (don't normally do that either) and saw the crocodiles.

Later we went to the mall to eat and play on the park.

WE Play Wednesdays!

Today was way too hot to hit the splashpark so we headed to my friend Chris's house.  She has the cutest house with a really nice backyard including lots of shade.  The kids immediately made a beeline for the swingset.

The biggest hit of all though was this inflatable waterslide.  My kids loved it!  We had so much fun and eat lunch outside in the shade and then us mommies sat in the pool with some orange dream and shanty!  Yum!  Thanks Chris for having us over!  We had so much fun!

We came home, napped, ate supper, and made popcorn and had a movie night.  It was a great day!

Potty Time!

Today was our first "down" day in awhile where we didn't have any plans. It was nice. We woke up early with the storm and just stayed in our jammies all day! I thought it would be prime opporunity to start potty training.  I have tried here and there but it was unsuccessful.  Gracie was 3 months shy of turning 3.  So I put the potty in the kitchen, stripped off diapers, and let them run around.  Of course they LOVE sitting on the potty and wiping themselves, using the entire roll of toilet paper and then we go wash our hands.  There was only 1 thing, sort of 2 things missing.....pee and poop! 

Evie DID go pee-pee in the potty twice!  Go Evie!  (it's gross, but you can see the wet, yellowish toilet paper in the bowl.  I was so proud of her and gave her stickers on her sticker chart to reward her.  Can you tell I'm a teacher?

Presley kept saying he was going but never did.  He did enjoy sitting on the potty though and celebrated when Evie went.

Like Gracie, I bought some speical things to help learn about the potty.  Gracie was into Elmo at that time so she got an Elmo potty book and video.  I thought the twins might like their own speical gifts to read on the potty so I headed off to the bookstore.

For Presley, I found this one.  He likes superheros and there are tabs to pull and things to open while reading.  It was a hit.

Evie got this book. It's really cute too.  It talks about how mommy and grandma use the potty and wear underwear too.  We read it about 20 times tonight.

We already have this book which is nice because not only does it talk about using the potty, it's one of those look and find books and the kids like that. 

But this book did catch my eye and I laughed out loud when I read the title.  Isn't it cute?  I didn't get it though. 

Alpha Sigma Alpha Playdate!

Those crazy times in college seem like yesterday.....

So how is it possible that those crazy girls in that picture produced these crazy kids?

Today we went to my friend Amy's house to play! (She is not pictured above,sorry Loven)   Lindsay, Anne, and Jessica were there too.  The 5 of us have managed to produce these 9 crazy kids!

And if you don't see what I mean about crazy....just like at Presley and Jackson!

The kids did play really well together and this John Deere was the biggest hit of all.  Luckily they are learning the concept of sharing and taking turns.

They also found this sled to pull each other in too.

Like I said, the kids played well and us Alpha mommies got to sit and drink watermelon slushies thanks to Jessica!
