Pacer Challenge!

So at our school, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders do a pacer test in P.E.  It's this thing where you have to run back and forth and be at the line by the time it beeps.  And it gets increasingly harder. You do it for as long as you can with 2 or 3 breaks.  They take the top 10 boys and girls and then have a special challenge night.  Both Evie and Presley made it!

They had the 3rd grade girls go first.

Here's the girls ready to race.

Evie didn't win but she did great!

Then it was the boys' turn.

Presley did great.  He actually tied for 1st with another boy.

So proud of my little runners!

My Girls!

We enjoyed a nice spring day just the girls and I.  We went to the park.  While we were sitting there, I couldn't help but think about how proud I am of my girls.  Grace was wearing her cooking club shirt and I thought about how she is wrapping up her first year in middle school.  She really went all out and I couldn't be more prouder of her.  Not only did she join Cooking Club, but she also joined Cross Country, Track, Drama Crew, was a member of band, and was featured in her art show. I'm so glad that my shy girl put herself out there and tried all kinds of new things.

And this one is still trying to find her niche but she is the most caring girl I've ever seen.  She treats these babies like they are the real thing and can't wait to have her own someday.

How did I get so lucky to have the best 2 girls out there?

Track Star!

Gracie may not have won any races during her season on track but she did improve everytime and she finished every race as well.  She usually ran the 1600 which is 4 times around the track.  She did good though. She walked some of the way but ran mostly.

And she still liked the discus.

So proud of my girl!  I hope she sticks with it next year too!

Gracie's Band Concert!

Gracie had another band concert this spring.  She has really enjoyed playing the clarinet.  She has gotten good at it too.

Here she is wit her teacher Mrs. McCammon.

HIghest Award Ceremony!

This year our Girl Scout Service Unit put on their very first Highest Award Ceremony!  It was for older Girl Scouts who have earned their Bronze, Silver, or Gold Awards!  Last year, Gracie's Junior Troop earned their Bronze Award.

They had many guest speakers including Officer Cook, a female policewoman in Plainfield, Amy Logan, an author too.

This is Deb, Holly's aunt who is in charge of our service unit.

Here are all the girls who earned the highest awards.

Here's our troop.  So proud of these girls.  We collected over 132 pounds of pop tabs to donate to Ronald McDonald House.

And here is most of the troop!
