Happy 19th birthday Gracie Girl
I have no idea how you're 19 already
It's your last year in your teens
The 20's are coming, are you ready?
This year has been crazy for sure
In August we moved you to Otterbein
It's was far and in Ohio
But we knew you'd be fine
It was hard to leave you there for sure
But zoology is what it's known for
You wanted to work with animals
But after a few weeks, you weren't sure
You did adjust to life away from home
You got along with your roommate and decorated your dorm
You made new friends, Naomi and Aubrey
And you adjusted to your new norm
We talked nearly every night
And we facetimed so you could see Binx
But you got into your routine
And you did better than you think
We came to visit you for family weekend
We did all kinds of fun things
We flew you home for breaks too
And sent you fun packages and new things
One day you called because you needed to talk
You were thinking about changing your major now
You decided maybe nursing is what you wanted to do
So you set off to figure out how
Ultimately we decided you would move back home
You would go to the community college, JJC
So we packed you up and registered for classes here
And that would give you more time to see
But before you left Ohio, you met a boy
Micah is his name and he's a nice guy
I remember you telling me about him and your first date
He took you ice skating for that first try
And now months later, you are still dating him
He treats you well and makes you happy
You do make a cute couple
And he travels here to visit, not too shabby
But you've really grownup in this last year
Figuring out your path and getting it going
You have such maturity and responsibility
And this past year, it's really been showing
You are doing well at JJC
And you are liking your classes
You got a job at Walt's Ice Cream
And have been busy serving the masses
You've decided to stay at JJC one more year
And get the basics out of the way
Soon you'll be applying to schools again
And before I know it, you'll be on your way
I know that you are going to be fine
You'll do amazing things along the way
I'm so proud of the young adult you are becoming
I'll always support you is what I want to say
Keep being you and don't ever change
To your dreams, stay true
I can't wait to keep watching you grow
And no matter what, I'll always love you.
