Today is a special day
You are 13 years old
The teenage years are upon us
They'll be super fun I'm told
I'm not sure how you're 13 already
It seems like yesterday you were my baby Gracie Girl
Holding you as a baby seems like yesterday
All these years seem like a whirl
You've grown so much within the last year
And now you are headed into 8th grade
You'll rule the school over at Drauden
Man, you have got it made
I've seen you mature so much
You are easy going and go with the flow
You are respectful and responsible
It's the cleaning up part you need to grow
You still love band and play the clarinet
You also take part in the cooking club too
You love to make mac and cheese cups
And your cheeseburger bites are too good to be true
You still love your pandas
They are your favorite bear
You even got to meet real ones
That is a memory that you will always share
Green is still your favorite color
You enjoy playing on your phone
You usually are pretty happy
But sometimes you get that teen tone
You are quite the social butterfly
And talk to your friends everyday on facetime
You have a great group of friends
They are all so caring, smart, fun, and kind
As much as I can't believe you are 13
I would freeze time if I had my say
I am so proud of the woman you are becoming
I have enjoyed every step along the way
My wish for you is simple-
Do what makes you happy and smile
You have a good head on your shoulders
Those dreams will come true in awhile
