Daddy Daughter Dance!

Gracie woke up with a smile yesterday morning because it was the big day.....

Daddy Daughter Dance Date Night!

She was so excited.  She couldn't wait to wear her sparkly pink dress.  She wore it last year too but oh well, they'll still be plenty of years of dress shopping ahead of us!

We got home from school, ate, painted nails, curled hair, put on makeup, and wall-ah....my beautiful girl!

 

Daddy even surprised her with a coursage!

 

She looks so grown up.  She's even wearing nylons!

I sent Daddy with the camera but luckily, I volunteered to work it too so I got to see the girls in action.  The theme was princess.  It was the most darling thing you've ever seen. Pink and purple everywhere.  The girls got a favor of a bracetly and a light-up wand (my station I manned), there was a DJ and even a photo booth with props!

Gracie immediately found her BFF Jackie.  

 

There was some dancing going on but mainly running around with friends.  Although Gracie did enter the hula hoop contest.

Here they are with twins Evelyn and Emmaline, 2 girls in their class and also in our Girl Scout troop!

 

And then of course they played "Butterfly Kisses" and all the dads were slow dancing with their daughters.  I'd be lying if I said I didn't have tears in my eyes.  It was the most precious thing.

The date also ended with a trip to Culver's for some ice cream.  Yum!

In couple of years, Daddy will have 2 dates for this event and I will get to go to the Mother/Son dance with Presley.  I can't wait.  I love these things.  And at least for now, Gracie's only date is Daddy.  

Our Trip to Highland!

We ventured down south this weekend. We have been going to Highland every February to celebrate Christmas with my husband's family since December is always so busy.   But this trip was a litltle different.   This winter has been anything but great weather-wise.  We left Friday after school and our Valentine's parties.  We didnt' have any new snow although you wouldn't know it by looking at the ground but the roads were clear....or so we thought.  We were a few miles outside of Bloomington when we noticed the snow first blowing over the road.  Then the right lane was half covered by snow and ice.  We decided that it was dark, it was sucky driving conditions, and we had the kids so we did the safe thing and got a hotel room for the night.  We stopped at the first hotel we came too and the only room left was a king size suite thanks to the high school state wrestling tournament in town.  The kids didn't mind though.

 

We ordered pizza and the movie "Frozen" and had fun.  The next morning we set off again.  This time the roads were much better.

 

We got to Uncle Frog's house just in time to have Christmas.

 

Bub got a new Mickey shirt all the way from Disney!

And Gracie got a Rapunzel shirt from Disney!

 

It wasn't long before everyone came over.  Evie and Peyton became great friends right away and played all night together.  

 

Gracie and Sydney had fun making some bracelets.

 

Papa was there too and we made sure to get some pics with him.  Grandma Vicki was sick.

 

And here they are with their one and only cousin....Jordin!  She just turned 17!  Hard to believe she was our little flower girl 10 years ago.

The next day we headed out to lunch.  The kids had fun eating at their table.  Drake and Maddie were even able to join us this time!

Next time we hope to stay longer!  But we had fun anyways!

Enchanted Ball!

Today Evie woke up with big smile because she knew today was the day of her ball at school!

We found one dress that wasn't already packed away and went as Snow White.

 

We started the ball by first making some crowns.

We also got some tattoos.

 

Then it was picture time.

 

This little princess was lovign it.

 

After that, she was ready to hit the dance floor.

 

She found her friend Madison from class.

 

Poor Bub was not about this ball.  He didn't want to dance.  He just wanted to go play at Grandpa's.

 

But Evie found quite a few friends from her class and had such a good time dancing with Madison, Addie, Wyatt, and Reid.

I was so excited to meet some of her classmates and watch her interact with them.  It melts my heart to see her having such a great time.  I'm so glad we went.  What an enchanted time we had!
