13 years ago today you were born
13 years ago I met you for the first time
I prayed for you my little boy
and was so happy you were mine
You grew quickly
And did things all boys love
You took to baseball when you were 3
And since then, never been without a bat or glove
You've been playing baseball for many years
You've done in-house and travel teams too
Now you play for the JR Stars
And now you are going on year 2
But now that you are in 7th grade
You've pushed yourself a little harder
You are still in honors classes
And you are still getting much smarter
But this year you tired out for basketball
Did you make the team? You bet you did!
You are so excited and have been practicing hard
I can't wait for your first game kid
You still love eating plain hamburgers
But you're branching out to chicken too
Pop Tarts and candy are your favorite snacks
And you still love the color blue
You enjoy playing video games
But you also like to play outside
We're lucky to have good neighbors to play with
You guys love to hang out and go for a bike ride
I can't believe you are 13 already
Where has the time gone?
I'm so proud of you I want you to know
With your academics and all you've done
I hope this year is a great one for you

I met your cute little face
You and your brother were born
I had it all with both of you and Grace
I prayed for another daughter
and suddenly there you were
From the minute you were born
I knew you'd be a princess I was sure
You've had such a great year
And amaze me everyday
You worked hard in your honors classes
And put yourself our there in many ways
This year you tried out for volleyball
You worked hard and made the team
You always went out and gave it your all
We had fun watching you cheer and scream
You also became a cheerleader times two
Tri-City Wolverines was your first gig
You joined with your pal Mikayla
You were even a flier cuz you're not very big
Then you tried out for cheer at school
You weren't sure about joining at first
But I know you, you were just nervous
And when you found out you made it, you burst
I'm so proud of you for trying new things
And putting yourself out there
You've made some new friends this year
And still have the ones who really care
You still love the color pink
And picky about the clothes you wear
Black leggings are always a must
And so is straightening your hair
You love to bake all the things
And are staring to learn how to cook too
You are also pretty crafty
And being a diva is what describes you
Keep going our of your comfort zone
So many things to try that are new
I'll be the first one to see where your dreams go
I'm behind you all the way and I love you.
