It seems like yesterday you were my little baby

A chubby, 8 pound baby boy

I was so excited to be your mom

You fill my heart with so much joy

 

You’ve grown so much these past 11 years

You are already in 5^th grade

Mrs. Jennings is your teacher

And you’re doing remote learning-you’ve got it made

 

You tried out for travel baseball

And now you are a member of the Tornado Team

You have so much passion for that sport

And in your eyes, there’s a gleam

 

You’re great at pitching

And played short stop

You swing hard at bat

You’re effort is always at the top

 

You love your video games

Fortnite to be clear

You love to play online with your friends

You call them “bro” and give them a cheer

 

Your favorite color is still blue

Hamburgers are your favorite thing to eat

You can never get enough McDonald’s

And to you, Gatorade just can’t be beat

 

You’ve been to the Cubs Convention

And met Contreras and got Bryant’s ink

Rizzo is still your guy

But you are a die hard fan even when they stink

 

I’m so proud of the young man you are

You are getting taller everyday

You look like a young Joe with your glasses

And you make me happy everyday

It seems like yesterday you were born

I always knew I wanted another girl

And you were my dream come true

God surely blessed me that day

With my bundles of tiny pink and blue

 

You’ve grown so much these past few years

A little diva is what you are

You are classy and a bit sassy

But you are my shining, beautiful star

 

You are in 5^th grade now

And you still love to read

We read together almost every night

You are so smart, I know you’ll succeed

 

You love to put on makeup

And you love to do your hair

You know how to put together an outfit

And what others think, you don’t care

 

You are in poms

And learning some new moves

You’ve found your niche in what you like to do

And now tumbling might be the direction you choose

 

Your favorite color is still pink

Your new love is to bake

“Brookies” are your new specialty

And for your birthday, you requested a certain cake

 

You still love your Disney Princesses

And watching Christmas movies with mom

You have quite the American Girl collection

And you think Tik Tok is the bomb
