4th of July Festivities!

So we have had quite the busy holiday weekend here. First up, yesterday my friend Holly invited us to a waterpark. Well, I actually kind of invited ourselves. There is one right by our house but it costs lots of money but thankfully she had a membership and we can go with her.  It was so much fun and not crowded at all.  They had an awesome kiddie area.

With kiddie waterslides.

The zero-depth pool was awesome too.  It was huge and my kids loved it.  You can wear your floaties so that was no problem.

They were all being brave and swimming by themselves.

Then Gracie decided to be really brave and try the big waterslides.  Good thing is, you can wear floaties on those too!

The little ones sat and watched.

In addition to all that, they have a huge sand area so it makes you feel like you are at the beach.

After the waterpark fun, we headed to the fireworks here in Plainfield and all our pals came out for the fun.  We had to do some pop-its and smoke bombs.

This was baby Colton's first fireworks adventure.  Evie made sure he had a good time. And yes, she dressed herself.

We like the spot at St. Mary's where it just so happens that yesterday was Chuck and I's anniversary so most of my bridesmaids were there so we posed outside the church!

10 years baby!

And in the last 10 years, we have managed to do our share of populating the world.

Gracie got some birthday presents from some of her friends.

Then it was sparkler time.

We love sparklers!

Oh, and even Miss America herself made an appearance!

Here is the man who has put the spark in my life the last 10 years. I'm pretty corny huh?

Me and my girls.

The boy (aka Anne's bro) even surprised us and showed up to play with Baby Benny!

Here is the man, Scotty with his girlfriend Grace and his BFF Presley.

The fireworks started and everyone loved them including Colton.

But I think Miss Gracie has a little competition with Scotty...Shelby was putting the moves on too.

Today was more swimming fun in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard.  They set up every kind of pool/water thing they could find.  Baby Colton came to play too!

Gracie impressed us with her hula hoop ability.

We found this castle pool ball thing in Grandpa's shed.

We blew up the big waterslide and played on that.

Colton had fun playing with the balls.

My kids love Baby Colton so much and hardly ever leave his side.

We found this dog sprinkler to play in too.

And of course there was a water gun fight.  We gave Grandpa some new waterguns for Father's Day.

We even played a little house!

And after more fun in the sun, we headed off to see the fireworks in Joliet with Jackson and Baby Benny.

To help pass the time, the kids took turns making trains and being the conductor.  I think they rode the "train" to the North Pole, the zoo, Disney World, and Dunkin Donuts.

It was getting a little chilly with the breeze so we found an extra winter hat in my van for Baby Benny.  Isn't he the cutest little owl you ever saw?

And we did more sparklers of course.  They have been a huge hit this year!

We shared some snacks.

And the show began!

It was a great 4th of July!  Tomorrow we are headed to the beach for more fun in the sun and firework fun too!
