Pumpkins!

It may only still be September but we hit the pumpkin patch up this weekend as the weather as been incredibly nice. It was a good thing we picked that day because it was not very crowded.  I know we are rushing the season but we love fall!  We go to Dollinger's every year because mainly it's free, but the kids love it too.  They have the cutest little buildings that they love to play in and it seems like every year they add one more.  Presley was pretty proud of himself that he could go down the pole all by himself this year!

Play on the hay is always fun too.

Especially when you get to jump from bale to bale.

We had fun petting the bunnies.

And the pirate ship is always our favorite .  Arg!

Every year I take their picture by this sign.  Every year they keep getting taller.  Sniff.

We like petting the other animals too like the goats and the cow.

We had fun pumping water.

I had fun with my wild bunch.

The teepee was fun too.

And so was petting the horses.

And we had to take a train ride of course.

We also just couldn't wait to get our pumpkins!

And even though we got 4 big ones, I still have the cutest 3 pumpkins ever!

Especially this guy who likes to couldn't stop sliding down the poles.

And this girl who is my little scarecrow.

Oh, and Presley wanted me to make sure I took his pic while he was jumping on the hay.

It was fun.  Just the 5 of us.  But I'm sure we'll go back at least 5 more times!

Apple Picking!

So we have talked about going apple picking for years and never have....until today!

We found this place and even though it was a drive all the way to DeKalb, it was so much fun and such a beautiful day.  It was totally crowded but there was lots for the kids to do.

For one, they got to play on tractors.

There were barns with slides.

A spiderweb net.

Even a kid maze that Colton did with us.

They found their way through the maze all by themselves.

Colton had fun driving the tractor too.

We got to play in a silo filled with corn kernels. 

We climbed through pipes.

And even slid down pipes.

There was  hay to play and climb on.

And even have fun jumping off of.

They had the cutest little apple train.

Colton had fun chilling in the wagon despite his little accident he had at church this morning.

Then it was time to go apple picking.  We bought our bags and headed to the orchard.  There were so many rows of apples and of all kinds.

The kids wanted green apples first.

They had so much fun picking them off the tree.  Everyone even ate an apple as we searched for more.

Evie stayed by her pal Colton and helped him too.

We really had a great time and I already pinned all kinds of apple recipes from Pinterest that I will attempt to make.  Some of the easy ones include an apple dump cake, apple muffins, and homemade applesauce.  And of course we already have our caramel dip ready.

Presley thought he was the bomb because he filled his bag all by himself!

The name of the place was Jonamac Orchard.  We waited in a long line to go to the bakery to get some apple cider donuts.  Yum!

Totally fun and worth the drive. We had a applicious day!
