Well, it was a crazy weekend around here as usual. On Friday night, we had Evie and Presley's birthday party! It was their first birthday here at our house. W head lots of friends join us for a carnival birthday party! And I'm warning you now that is a very long post.
The preparations for the party was a little bit stressful but it came together nicely. Thanks to my mom and my sister, this is what we came up with....
carnival deocr in the basement,
lots of game stations set up like spin the wheel for candy,
lollipop tree,
a tattoo parlor,
mini golf,
duck pond,
bean bags,
as you can see, we used red and white tablecloths for the backdrop. It also helped to hide all the stuff that was down there as well as keep the kids out of the stuff.
We also had tic tac toe,
ring toss,
photos,
photo props,
an alligator ring toss,
and of course bozo buckets.
I think it came together super cute and well worth the time and energy. Every game had a carnival prize whether you won or lost. I found cute things on Oriental Trading such as carnival activity pads, carnival tattoos, carnival crayons, carnival stampers and pencils, plus other fun things.
We had to try out the photo booth.
Every guest coming got to pick a popcorn bucket to keep all their goodies in.
And thanks to my talented sister, she made these popcorn cupcakes and also ice cream cone cupcakes. The frosting on the ice cream cones looks real doesn't it?
We had hot dogs and popcorn, typical carnival food.
The birthday kiddos were so excited for everyone to come!
Big sis was too!
Colton wasn't digging the photo booth but we still managed to get a good pic.
Grandma and Grandpa were begin silly too.
Soon the guests stared to come. Our favorite babies were there of course!
Our friends Meryn and Piper too. Piper is Evie's BFF.
Our cousins Addie and Blake.
As you can see we had lots of little people. And I'm bummed I really didn't take a nice group shot of everyone.
We didn't let the kids go down until all the guests came. I explained that they had to get a bucket first and then they could start playing the games.
And they were ready!
They grabbed their buckets....
and they were ready to play!
As you can see, they had a blast! We set up some blankets and ate downstairs too.
Then we sang "Happy Birthday" and had cupcakes!
Then it was time for presents.
I think everyone had a great time! I know the birthday kids did! It was a fun but exhausting night. Thank you to all our friends and family that came to celebrate with us! We hope you had fun!
