Fun at the Fair!

It was that time of year again.... The Sandwich Fair!

Every  year we so look forward to going to this fair. It's such a huge place and we always have so much fun!  It's like an "old school" fair where they have the barns for all the different animals and places to show them, a petting zoo, carnival rides, craft vendors, arts and crafts buildings with all the awards for the quilts and cakes and veggies people grew and stuff...super cool!  And that's just part of it. There is so much more! 

But every year we take a pic by a big tire. Here is our big tire pic for this year.

 

As soon as we came in, Presley spotted all the CAT machines and couldn't wait to try  them all out!  He was all smiles!

 

After we told Presley there was lots more to see, we found a cow to try milking.

 

They did a good job and even earned themselves a sticker.

 

We walked through the petting zoo area and watched this baby cow go pee.

 

We got to pet a baby chick.

 

We also got to pet this bunny too.

 

Baby Colton and E even joined us this year!  

 

Our little piglets...hehehe!

 

We stopped for lunch and found some pumpkins.

 

Evie had to hold Baby Colton.

 

And then these two were a riot eating some chicken nuggets.

 

Finally it was time for some carnival rides.  Driving the cars is always so much fun!

 

We went in some of the arts and crafts buildings and Gracie saw this princess cake. Guess what kind of cake she wants on her next birthday?

 

Baby Colton was so good all day!  Evie made sure to check on him.

 

Then we found the biggest pumpkin award!

 

And I think the highlight of this trip (besides climbing and walking through a bazillion campers) was riding the tractors!

 

Even Colton wanted to try one out!

 

We made one last stop to try out some bumper cars and the kids loved them!  

It was a great day at the fair!  Can't wait to go again next year!

Labor Day Weekend!

First of all, I LOVE 3-day weekends!

Second of all, I LOVE that you can do so much more than just a regular weekend.

This weekend was no exception.  Chuck and I hit the town with no kids on Friday night.  We headed out to see Chuck's favorite hillbilly, Kid Rock.  We talked our neighbors John and Jeannie into coming with us.  It was so much fun!  It may have rained but it didn't ruin our fun.  This was the third time the hubs and I have seen Kid Rock and he does put on a great show.  ZZ Top opened up for him.  He played my favorites too like "Cowboy", "Picture", and of course "All Summer Long."

 

After the show, I met up with my coworker, and Gracie's 1st grade teacher, Nikki!  (you did it dude, you are on my blog!)

 

Chuck and I were hurting a little bit on Saturday so we had a few friends over for a cookout and E came with Baby Colton. My little ones just love him to pieces.  They had to take turns holding him.

 

Miss Evie is the little mama and she was right by him all night.  She rubbed his little face to get him to sleep.

 

In fact, her and Presley sang Colton "Rock-a-Bye Baby" and "Twinkle, Twinkle" and I totally thought I taped it but I guess it didn't.  It was super cute and now we will have to reinact it again when we see Colton next.

The next day we were invited over to my friend Holly's house for a cookout.  My friend Laurie brought Cullen and Mason and even Grandma Patti and Grandpa Gil came too!  The kids played SO good together and such a great time swimming.

 We are some yummy hot dogs.

 And after 2 pieces each of cookie cake, the kids were staring to wind down.

 Gracie loves hanging out with Jackie.  Since Holly teaches with me, she brings Jackie to school too now so the girls are not only in the same class, but they can play together before and after school too. They are becoming such good friends.

 Presley was excited to have some boys to hang with too.

 And again, Evie could not get enough of Baby Charlie.

 All the kids thought he was pretty cool. In fact the other day Gracie told me that  I needed to have another baby and that it should be  girl and that we should name her "Violet" because that's a pretty name. We'll see about that.....

 Little Miss Mama.

 She even gave him some smooches.   She is going to be a great mom someday!

 And I know I ruined the kids' fun movie night on top of the bunk beds because soon it was time to go.

 

Today we headed to Blackberry Farms with Grandma, Grandpa, and Auntie Amy. Grandpa and I pedaled Bub around on the paddle boats.

 

And Amy got the girls in her boat.

 

Presley was SO excited to ride the merry-go-round.

 

So was Evie. You would have thought we had never been on one of these things before.

 

But Gracie was my buddy on the train.

 

Then the kids had to try out the new zipline thing they have there.

 

They were so excited about it.  Maybe Grandpa should build one of these things next...

 

She may look scared but she loved it.

 

The kids must have played for like an hour on the new barnyard park. It is super cute!

 

This time we took a tractor ride to see the pioneer house.

 

It was there we met "Paco" the donkey.

 

We quickly discovered that he likes to eat anything that's green like leaves and weeds.  He wanted nothing to do with the hay.  This was their favorite part of the day.

 

We also had to stop at the schoolhouse.

 

Now that they are all in school, they find this interesting.

 

They like these desks though.  I guess Grandpa has some more learning to do too.

 

Uh-Oh!  

 

The teacher even let them ring the schoolbell.

 

It was a great weekend!  The weather was overall good and Gracie even tried roller skating again.

 

Evie made sure to help her big sis along.

 

And this guy had fun playing with his fire truck.
